Cross-chain bridge¶
Bitgold Network is EVM-compatible, so assets can move between Bitgold and other chains through bridges that support Bitgold. Bridging is operated by third-party bridge providers and ecosystem services, not by the Bitgold protocol itself.
Before you bridge¶
- Confirm the bridge supports Bitgold Mainnet (chain ID 618) or Bitgold Testnet (chain ID 617).
- Verify the token contract address on the Bitgold explorer before approving a transfer.
- Check which chain, token, and amount the bridge supports. Route availability is decided by the bridge provider.
- Test the flow on testnet before moving production funds.
Bridge assets to Bitgold¶
- Open the bridge or ecosystem tool listed on the official Bitgold channels. The Bitgold app is the entry point for Bitgold tools.
- Select the source chain and Bitgold as the destination chain.
- Connect your wallet on the source chain.
- Choose the token and amount, then review the route and fees.
- Approve the token if required and send the transfer.
- Wait for the transfer to complete, then confirm the balance on www.bitgold.live.
Bridge assets from Bitgold¶
The same flow works in reverse: select Bitgold as the source chain, choose the destination chain, and confirm the transfer in your wallet.
For developers¶
- Bitgold exposes standard EVM interfaces, so bridge contracts can integrate with it using the same tooling as any EVM chain.
- Read the bridge’s own documentation for its contract addresses, supported assets, and API.
- Never assume token support: query the bridge or its contracts for the current route and asset list.
- Rate limits, fees, and finality times are set by the bridge provider.
Safety notes¶
- Only use bridges and tools announced through official Bitgold Network channels.
- Treat unsolicited bridge links, airdrops, and “migration” sites as potential scams.
- Verify token addresses and approvals before signing.
- Bridged assets are claims issued by the bridge, not native BTG.
