Developer Quick Guide¶
If you are a developer looking to build on Bitgold Network, this guide collects the essentials.
Getting started¶
Bitgold Network is an EVM-compatible Layer 1. Because it runs the EVM, your existing Ethereum smart-contract skills, Solidity code, and tooling carry over directly.
| Mainnet | Testnet | |
|---|---|---|
| Chain ID | 618 (0x26A) |
617 (0x269) |
| Currency | BTG (18 decimals) | tBTG (18 decimals) |
| RPC | https://rpc.bitgold.network |
https://testnet1.bitgold.network |
| Explorer | www.bitgold.live | testnet.bitgold.live |
| Faucet | — | faucet.bitgold.network |
Connecting¶
- JSON-RPC endpoints — all mainnet and testnet endpoints.
- Wallet configuration — add Bitgold to MetaMask or Trust Wallet.
Getting BTG¶
BTG is the native coin of Bitgold Network and pays for transaction fees.
- On testnet, claim tBTG from the Bitgold faucet.
- On mainnet, acquire BTG from an exchange or bridge that supports Bitgold Network.
JSON-RPC API¶
Interacting with Bitgold requires sending requests to specific JSON-RPC methods. Bitgold’s API is compatible with Geth, with a small number of network-specific extensions.
